The Santa Cruz Triathlon, originally called the Tin Man Triathlon and then the Sentinel Triathlon, was founded in 1982, eight years after the first triathlon raced in San Diego. Our first annual race, held on October 16, 1983, started a tradition that brings triathletes together from near and far.

 

The Santa Cruz Triathlon has donated almost $350,000 to local high school and college sports programs over the last 5 years. Thank you!
